Understanding flat-pack delivery.

01 Confirm the delivery format.

Flat-pack furniture is supplied as components for assembly at the destination. Whether that format is suitable depends on the product, project and installation arrangement. Confirm the proposed delivery format for each item rather than assuming that all furniture is packed the same way.

KLDS offers KD export packing as part of its service discussion. Ask how the selected furniture will be prepared and what information is needed from the receiving team.

02 Keep cartons linked to the order.

For a project with multiple rooms or furniture types, clear identification is useful. Agree the product references and discuss how cartons, panels and hardware will be matched to the order schedule.

Ask what packing list and assembly information will accompany the shipment. If your warehouse or installer uses a particular room-code system, share it before packing arrangements are finalized.

03 Plan for receiving and assembly.

Identify who will receive the goods, where they will be stored and who will assemble them. Discuss site access, handling equipment and the sequence in which furniture is needed. These details should be coordinated with the relevant logistics and installation partners.

On receipt, the receiving team should check the shipment against the agreed documentation and record any visible packaging issues. Follow the order-specific process for reporting shortages or damage.

04 Put delivery details in the brief.

Share the delivery destination, quantities, furniture list and installation plan when requesting a proposal. Confirm the packaging approach, delivery scope and responsibilities in the order documents.
